New 100 km World Record ratified by IAAF
New 100 km World Record ratified by IAAF. On September 14th, IAAF ratified the men 100 km World Record 6:09:14 achieved by Nao Kazami (JPN) in Kitami City on 24 June 2018. The previous record 6:13:33 was set by Takahiro Sunada (JPN) on June 21st, 1998 during the same race. The record sustained for 20 years.

Jordan site visit and press conference for future championship opportunities. IAU President Nadeem Khan visited Jordan and discussed with Saad Al‐Hiyasat, President of Jordanian Athletic Federation (JAF), the possibility to organize an IAU championship in Jordan.

Om Die Dam 50k Live Coverage. The Om Die Dam 50k is a IAU gold label event on the 50 km distance. It has been held for 29 years, and has been a label for around 10 years. The race will start in the morning on Saturday, March 16th 2019 from 5:30 am South Africa Standard Time (GMT+2).

Hungarian Ultrarunning 6H Championship. The Hungarian 6H Championship was held in Szekszárd on 10th March 2019. This IAU Bronze Labelled Race also included an open race (6H) and 50 km as well. In the Womens Race Bleier-Cseke Lilla was a convincing winner with a distance of 77.059 km and the Men’s Race was won by Halama Levente with a distance of 81.145 km. The open race provided good competition with a fantastic performance by Gábor Muhari covering a distance of 86.485 km and the leading female in the open race Krisztina Ruscsák achieved a distance of 78.909 km. The 50 km race was won by Zsófia Malatinszky Zsófia with time 3:34:13

Opening Ceremony - will be on June 7 (Friday) at 11 am. Press Conference - will be on June 6 (Thursday) at 6 pm.

2019 IAU Trail World Championship – race repor. On June 8th 2019 the IAU Trail World Championship took place in Mirandha do Corvo, Portugal. Athletes from 53 nations compete on beautiful but difficult 44.2 km trail course (2 120 m of elevation gain and 1 970 of elevation loss). Technical terrain as well as steep climbs and challenging descents, all this was waiting for runners.
